HAPPY BIRTHDAY KOLBY!
Since Jeff was sitting alert all night last night, we waited until tonight to have a small celebration with Kolby for his birthday! Homemade enchiladas, ice cream cake and a new Nintendo DSi game was all good by him. Okay, the enchiladas weren't really good by anyone. They were terrible. So much for trying a new recipe on a special event kinda night huh? We survived though and the cake more than made up for it! :)        Of course, the dogs were not very impressed that they didn't get any of the cake, but they had fun on their own! :) Now, on to prep for Kolby's birthday party this weekend! Bring on the nerf wars!  Wish us luck everyone! Kolby delivered around 25 invitations for this party! Just imagine it if you will for a minute.....20-25 7-10 year olds, armed with nerf guns dashing through the backyard, hiding behind bunkers and playing war. I'm gonna need a good stiff drink to get through this one! :) |

Lightning II Update
Well, we are all still home bound thanks to the weather. Hopefully everything will melt away today and make the roads safe for everyone to get back into their normal routines. In the mean time, I've finally caught up on our blog here, Kolby has mastered yet another DSi game, Zoe has studied her butt off for exams when she goes back to school and Jeff has been working in the garage on the new airplane. SNOW DAYS!!!!
Locals here in Sumter claim that it NEVER snows here. I beg to differ. This is just our second winter here and it's snowed every time!       Kolby is absolutely loving it, even if his hands do get so cold that they start hurting terribly! Zoe on the other hand is way less than impressed that this weather is keeping her from school. Me? I'm just trying to will it all away! I really should be living in a tropical climate. Like Hawaii! |

Be Our Guest
While Mike and Crystal are away at Disney, their dog Hunter will be our guest. I'm not so sure that Benny is very appreciative of Hunter's way of saying hello though! And of course we had to include the picture of Kolby with a shark painted on his face. There was a birthday party next door with a face painter and Kolby is having all kinds of fun running around holding his eye and screaming "AAAHHH MY EYE! HE GOT MY EYE!" Tehehe. He's too stinking cute!   |

Please Remember
| Our dear friends, Mike & Crystal Kretser and Crystal's mother, Linda Franklin. Crystal lost her father on Christmas day. I can't imagine the pain of losing a parent. Nor do I care to. What I do know though is that during such an incredibly difficult time, it's important to have friends and family there to support you. So, Morgan and I are heading out to Virginia today to be with Crystal, Mike and Linda. Please keep them all in your thoughts and send lots of positive energy. |

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
Wow, we did actually get everyone to sleep and Santa actually came to visit everyone! Of course, the one time Jeff and I finally get smart and set the alarm to beat the kids up, it was the one time that we had to wake them both up! Kolby was hilarious though. When I walked into his room and woke him up, he blew me off and said he was too tired to get up. I couldn't help but laugh a little when I said, "Hmmm, I wonder what today is." I died laughing the way he bolted running out of the room and laughed even harder when he got the worried look when scoping out the living room. It was as if he believed he really was too bad for Santa to come visit him. I suppose Santa has a sense of humor too as he apparently hid all of the gifts in the downstairs office! Tehehehe. By the way, Santa said thank you for the cookies, but please not so many next year Kolby! :)    And they are finally awake!       Nerf guns, diamonds, beavers, gift cards, sirius satellites and lots more!                       And of course the box of gifts that we forgot to send out as the very last picture! I so did not have everything as together as normal this year! Here's to a more organized 2011! Tehehehe Merry Christmas everyone! We wish we could have spent the day with all of you! |
